One of the more well-rounded debut EPs I’ve heard lately is from Dutch producer David Douglas and his Royal Horticultural Society. Named after a 19th century Scottish Botanist (who coined the term Douglas firs for example) , his songs which mixes different electronic subgenres also take their track names from his chosen career. As does ‘California Poppy’, which Solar Bears remixed as a follow up their recent Boiler Room set. It takes the original’s shuffling muted disco rhythm and drapes it in some wistful Solar Bears production.
It’s taken from a remix EP out in September on AtomNation and will also feature a Young Montana? remix.
